Refund and Returns Policy

Returns & Refunds

All sales are considered complete once an order number is issued. Smarter Homes Solutions will not exchange or return items unless due to unforeseen circumstances accepted by Smarter Homes. If goods have already been shipped, you are responsible for the cost of returning them, including a handling fee of up to 25%. To obtain a full refund:

  • Ensure we receive written notice of cancellation within seven days of receipt.
  • Cancel the transaction by submitting a Returns Request form online under Documents.
  • Arrange and bear the cost of returning the goods.
  • Return the goods in their original packaging, unused and undamaged

Non Returnable/Non-Refundable

You acknowledge and accept that no returns will be considered of any item that was removed from the original packaging and return requested without merit. Any cabling which has been cut to the Customer’s specifications.

Other Returns or Exchanges

The six-month Consumer Protection Act (CPA) warranty does not allow returns without a valid reason. Smarter Homes Solutions (Pty) Ltd only accepts returns or exchanges under the CPA or ECTA, or if a supplier or manufacturer’s warranty covers the faulty goods. To return an item purchased from our website, submit a request through the Returns page on our website under Documents.

Please take note of the below:

  • Products must be inspected and tested by the supplier (and subject to our in-house inspection) before a replacement or refund is offered.
  • Products damaged by inappropriate use or wear and tear are not covered.
  • No credit will be issued for obsolete, damaged or products tampered with or altered
  • If return is due to factory error or defective material, credit will cover the cost of the product.
  • If the product is not defective based on our findings, a handling fee of up to *25%* will levied. Customers will be notified and asked on which courier options will suit them on returning the product to their premises which will be at their cost. Should we not receive any feedback within 21 days of notification from Smarter Homes on the findings, the product will be discarded and no credit will be issued.
  • Refunds, once processed may take between 7 to 14 days to reflect in your bank account

 

Incorrect Product Delivered

The responsibility is on the customer to take the necessary steps in ensuring the product ordered is suitable for its intended use. Please inspect the details on the packaging of the item prior to unboxing. If an incorrect product is delivered, do not remove it from its original packaging, open, or make any such use of it. Should the item be opened and used, cost of such product will be passed on to the customer.
